This year has seen a cosmopolitan section of guests arriving at our Bed and Breakfast Le Grand Saule. Guests have arrived from all over the world including Canada, USA, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Majorca, Austria and even Israel - as well as our usual visitors from England, Ireland, Spain and of course France, Belgium and Holland. It all adds up to a very interesting time with stories being told around tables and drinks and an interchange of ideas from one and all. Its amazing how language suddenly doesn't become a barrier when people are having a great time. Some are travelling throughout Europe - as is the case for many from USA, some are travelling from one side of France to the other; and still others are here for festivals and events : from champagne top collecting and fossils, to music festivals or family reunions and weddings. We even had some french guests leave their children behind with grandparents so that they could go off to Futuroscope in Poitiers. Well the season is coming to a close for most of us now in Chambre d'Hotes and we all wait with anticipation the guests who will arrive next year - many of who become great friends and return time after time. Roll on the 2012 season - but shortly we are off to a spell of hibernation.... |
